Crime- regional solutions needed

How much more can we continue to be shocked by the latest manifestations of wanton crime and violence in Caribbean societies?  Last week’s murderous robbery in Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados, may be the latest horror story but right across the region, the daily news are front-loaded with tales of murder and violent crime.


Any good news about young people?

Pick up a newspaper, tune into a radio or TV news or music report and It seems that the media is guilty of portraying young people as being out of control. Insolent, violent and hooked on something.


Police action, the election bell...

So, there has been action in the matter of the shooting death of Constable Kingsley John.  Special Service Unit Officer, Constable Rohan McDowall has been charged with murder. 


The print media environment

The word is that the sitting Prime Minister of this country is holding out hope that two of the newspapers operating here would be generally supportive of his government’s administration.
